The autobiography of a some weird guy (with some massive link propagation!)
The machines
One of my great hobbies is, um, unix. I've had the opportunity and pleasure to work with several different flavors of Unix, such as Solaris, SunOS, SCO (OpenSewer and UnixWare), AIX, HP-UX, and OpenBSD, in addition to Linux, FreeBSD, and OpenBSD. I do some moderatly serious programming in C, perl, python and shell languages(bash, ksh). I have been learning Emacs Lisp now for a good 6 years (trying anyway). Running debian and ubuntu on a variety of systems. I am really attached to apt as a means of updating a linux system. It is pretty handy. Another PC I bought for $10 at a garage sale, and updated with a new network card and scsi disk runs NetBSD.
The Net
I've been connected to the 'net since January '94, and logged on to the ISCA BBS. I've been on ISCA ever since, under the nick of "Jin Jin". I was probably one of the lucky people of the mid-90's in college who logged onto BBS systems, MUDS, MUSEs, and other similar diversions. IRC was another time waster that I used to enjoy. I haven't found the time to waste, lately. There was a time when I would log into Yahoo! Messenger, but does anyone do that anymore?
Location, location, location
I have been to tons of different places these past few years.
